ADwin-Gold-III Real-Time Data Acquisition System

ADwin systems are used by engineers and scientists for data acquisition, automation and Real-Time control applications. ADwin always provides a very accurate, precise and deterministic timing, with a high
speed process execution.

ADwin-Gold-III is the newest member of the ADwin Real-Time systems family. It is compact and is designed for OEM applications to be used inside machines and devices. Like all ADwin systems it executes a fast, robust and flexible Real-Time code. It provides a powerful performance in a robust metal enclosure at a reasonable price.

ADwin-Gold III offers an extensive range of digital and analog interfaces. It can therefore be used in many areas. The XILINX ZYNQ with 1 GHz clock rate ensures top values in computing power and system response time.

Options provide additional functions as counters, encoder interfaces, serial, CAN bus and SSI interfaces. The system can be used in laboratories, on a DIN-rail in industrial machines, or in mobile and in-vehicle applications.

In conjunction with a notebook and a power supply of 10–35 V, it is not only easy to use for measurements in motor vehicles, but also in industrial environments.

ADwin-Gold III allows immediate and synchronous acquisition and output at the inputs and outputs, even for several Gold III devices in parallel.

Synchronous Actions, Scalable Performance

ADwin-Gold III allows immediate and synchronous acquisition and output at the inputs and outputs, even for several Gold III devices in parallel.

You want highly synchronized actions? Here you are: Send a Sync signal to the differential Sync inputs of one, two or more Gold III devices and see them all react simultaneously. You can even define a master device which triggers all devices in a specific time pattern.

You also benefit from the multiplied ADwin performance, which scales up with each additional devices.

With a simple software instruction, you define the actions of each device which are triggered at the same time: read an analog input, copy counter values, output digital signal patterns and some more.

Not what you’re looking for? Check out the other real-time data acquisition systems that ADwin has to offer here.

Flexible and Expandable

The ADwin-PRO-II Modular Real-Time Data Acquisition System is the successor of ADwin- Pro product family. The new T12 processor provides much faster operation and transmits data 10 times faster with the new Pro II bus. The PRO-II backplane support both the new Pro II I/O modules and the older Pro I modules.

Pro-II systems offer the new T12 processor module which uses the Dual-Core ARM Cortex-A9. With 1 GHz clock speed and 1 GB of internal memory for program and data, the PRO-II’s processing power over 4x previous models. In addition, the processor’s 64-bit internal calculation enables double precision floating-point calculations.

The T12’s accelerated Ethernet interface enables high-speed data transmission to the PC at more than 1 Gb/s.

The bus bandwidth of up to 200 MByte/s significantly increases the capacity of the internal traffic between the processor module and the new Pro-II output modules.

The ADwin-PRO-II Modular Real-Time Data Acquisition System is Compatible

For all its superior performance the ADwin Pro-II remains compatible. On the backplane, both the new Pro-II and the present Pro-I bus work side by side so that all the existing input and output modules can be used.

The data exchange with the PC is fully compatible to work with all the interfaces (for VB, Matlab, etc.) as usual. Valuable ADbasic source code can be reused after just a few changes to the tried and tested algorithms which also benefit from the PRO-II’s higher processor speed.

Real-Time for Complex Applications

The new Pro-II system’s extraordinary speed enables applications demanding a high data rate. In addition, the fast T12 processor allows an intelligent pre-selection of relevant data, mathematical functions or digital channel filtering.

All new Pro-II modules run on the Pro II bus automatically sync. This allows fully-synchronized time measurements from multiple modules without any special software effort.

Housing Types for All Cases

The ADwin-PRO-II Modular Real-Time Data Acquisition System is available in the usual variety of robust housing for various applications: as a desk system for the lab, a portable system for travel or as a system for panel mounting.

The system’s 5-16 slots and ADwin’s wide variety of different modules are the ideal, flexible foundation for rapid real-time applications.

The ADwin HSM-24V Module provides 32 digital channels which process 24V signals and is operated on the LS bus.

The 32 channels can be set to inputs or outputs in groups of 8. After power-up, all channels are set as inputs.

The module requires an external supply voltage of 19V… 29V. The supply connector plug is placed bottom right (see fig. 3) on the module and has 2 pins each for Vcc and GND. The supply voltage is led to a fuse (5A, delay-action).
Both ground pins are connected to protection earth PE. The supply connection is reverse polarity safe.

The channels are designed to process 24V signals typically and are short-circuit-proof. A signal above 82% of supply voltage is processed as High level, a signal below 66% as Low level. For each channel, there is a LED indicating the status: LED on relates to High level.

The channels have a permissible operation current of 0mA…150mA. If the current exceeds 500mA at a channel, the channel is automatically switched off. An over-current in the range of 150mA…500mA may activate the superheating
protection of the driver, i.e. the driver is switched off, including the corresponding 16 channels.

Each 4 channels have a common GND. The input/output wires are connected to plug-in blocks of binding posts.

The inputs have a filter causing about 12μs signal delay.

The ADwin HSM-24V Module is easily snapped onto the DIN top-hat rail. The module may be processed inside a control cabinet only (industrial use).

The ADwin-Light-16 Real-Time Data Acquisition System is an intelligent real-time data acquisition and control system with analog and digital inputs and outputs, counters and a microprocessor with local memory. They are ideal, low-priced solutions for fast data acquisition and control in real time under Windows. Different configurations and expansion modules make these boards cost-effective for application-specific use. Based on one common design, the different versions include a PCI plug-in board, a CompactPCI version, a EURO-size plug-in board, and an external system in a robust metal enclosure.

The onboard SHARC DSP processor with its own local memory handles system management, data acquisition, on-line processing and control of outputs. Processing of each measurement can occur immediately after acquisition. The ADbasic control language allows users to program mathematical operations and functions which are executed immediately after each sampling step even at sampling rates as high as 100 kHz.

The ADwin software environment can be used under Windows (XP/Win7/Win8/Win10) and Linux, or as a stand-alone data acquisition system. Also, ADwin has drivers for many of the popular programming environments including Visual Basic, Visual C/C++, LabVIEW/LabWindows, TestPoint and others.
