Firmware Version 5.1a for the SQ2010
Development Release Note
Release Date: October 2011

NOTE: Please read this document before installation
The SQ2010 firmware consists of two files, cont363.hex (controller) at V5.1 and acqu.hex (acquisition) at V5.1

NOTE: BOTH the controller and the acquisition must be upgraded as a pair
NOTE: SquirrelView version 3.7 or above is required when using this firmware

Use SquirrelView to upgrade firmware:-

1. Place BOTH .hex files into a writable location
2. Use the upgrade wizard available from SquirrelView Tools->Diagnostics->Squirrel
3. After upgrading, confirm that both the controller and acquisition are at the correct version by using
     Tools->Diagnostics->2010 Squirrel->Firmware Versions

The following summarizes changes from V5.1 release

Ref Description
--- -----------
CIR5509-Improved display contrast

The following summarizes changes from V5.0 release

Ref Description
--- -----------
14587 – Setting a thermocouple and a scaled range caused logging and metering to fail

The following summarizes changes from V4.X release

Functional Changes:-

· Added B, C and D-type thermocouple ranges
· Added “Restricted” mode to Keypad Lock

Problems Fixed:-

Ref Description
--- -----------
14573 – Altered the low battery value and ensured that the “Low Battery” message is displayed correctly
14572 – Ensured that the "Power Critical" message is displayed correctly
14558 - Changes required to allow 64128M version of the graphic display to be used as well as the 64128A version without knowing which is fitted
14556 - Added “Restricted” mode to Keypad Lock to allow starting/stopping logging and copying of data but no editing in other menus
14555 - Added B, C & D-type thermocouples to the available ranges
14546 - Changed display message “Error Sub-second rate” to "Refer to manual Sub-second rate".
14488 - Changes to allow the last byte of the IP Address to be displayed properly
14265 - Added various strings for displaying IP address and related errors
14131 – Second and subsequent differential channels are now added correctly in Channel Setup/Add Channel

The following summarizes changes from V4.6 release

Functional Changes:-

· Improved modem communication

The following summarizes changes from V4.3 release

Functional Changes:-

· Added the ability to change the internal memory size if the card fitted allows it
· Added User Thermistor ranges
· Added more mathematical functions - ln, exp, log, x^y, sqrt
· Made searching by time quicker to improve the response when using the Downloader
· Improved graphing on the display
· Calculated channels now show CALIBRATION rather than INVALID if one of the operands is calibrated during the reading

Problems Fixed:-

Ref Description
--- -----------
14084 A sensor power supply set but not assigned to any channel would turn on even when overloaded
14109 Default download timeout changed to 4s to improve GSM/GPRS reliability
14160 Self-test did not work if a rate was set for interval A
14178 Scaled pulse rate ranges did not work on long intervals
14215 Logger could measure the wrong power supply when overloaded
14236 Scrolling up and down the logger fault display could corrupt the data shown

The following summarizes changes from V4.0 release and lower

Functional Changes:-

· Added the SUM logging mode which adds all readings taken since logging started

--- -----------
13915 Digital Event channel was not being graphed correctly
13987 Timestamps were not being recorded when only digital channels were set to log
14022 Calibrations were taking too long
14068 Scaling on pulse count/frequency ranges could be incorrect for metered readings
14069 Channels set to log average readings could not be metered correctly
13810 Open circuit thermocouple detection now works
13888 It is no longer possible to delete the reference junction measurement when a thermocouple channel is set
13914 Error codes, e.g. overrange and underrange, are now dealt with correctly on thermocouple ranges
