CAS DataLoggers is pleased to announce the new MSR175Pro Shock Data Logger, a rugged, high-performance solution designed to monitor mechanical shock, impact loads, and environmental conditions during transformer and heavy-duty equipment transport.
Transporting large transformers and other critical power infrastructure presents significant risk. Even short-duration shock events can lead to hidden damage, costly repairs, and disputes over liability. The MSR175Pro provides objective, high-resolution measurement data that supports reliable damage assessment and fact-based documentation throughout transit.
At the core of the MSR175Pro is an integrated 3-axis acceleration sensor with selectable measuring ranges of ±10 g, ±20 g, or ±40 g. The logger captures highly dynamic shock events with selectable measurement and storage rates from 4 Hz up to 4,000 Hz, allowing users to tailor performance to their specific application. Advanced onboard signal processing—including anti-aliasing, decimation, and high-pass filtering—ensures accurate separation of true impact events from static loads such as gravitational acceleration.
The MSR175Pro can store over two million measured values and records up to 1,000 shock events in a ring buffer, with an additional 1,000 events saved in non-overwriteable memory for secure documentation of critical incidents. This makes the logger especially valuable for insurance verification, transport validation, and quality assurance programs.
In addition to shock monitoring, the MSR175Pro includes an integrated temperature sensor covering −20°C to +65°C, with optional internal humidity, pressure, and light sensors available. Static acceleration measurements can also be recorded at regular intervals to determine positional changes during transport.
Designed for harsh environments, the compact unit features an IP65-rated encapsulated housing and is powered by a replaceable 3.6 V lithium battery with a typical service life of at least two years. A simple push-button interface and USB connectivity make setup and data retrieval straightforward.
The MSR175Pro is supported by the MSR175 software package, including Dashboard software for easy commissioning, MSR ReportGenerator for automatic report creation, and MSR ShockViewer for detailed evaluation and analysis.
With its combination of high-speed shock capture, environmental monitoring, and rugged design, the MSR175Pro offers a reliable solution for safeguarding high-value transformers and heavy equipment during transport.
