LogBox LTE is an IoT data logger with LTE NB IoT, CAT-M1, or 2G communication network. This device allows monitoring and data recording remotely, in installations with LTE infrastructure, perfectly suitable for mobile applications at long-distance locations or sites that do not need to use IT infrastructure.

The device has two analog inputs, plus a digital input and one digital output. LogBox LTE works with MQTT protocol both in publisher and subscriber mode, therefore it can publish data to IoT brokers and also read commands, enabling it to remotely execute some commands. Remote connection with low-cost infrastructure and application versatility are the highlights of this product.

LogBox LTE has a built-in rechargeable backup battery to keep data safe during a power outage. SMS notification and easy integration with NOVUS Cloud will also help commission this device quickly. LogBox LTE uses NXperience software, which has the NXperience Trust, a version that meets Good Manufacturing Practice compliance, meeting with the technical requirements of FDA Regulation Title 21 CFR Part 11 for validation of computer systems.

Modes of Operation

Modes of operation include autonomous battery operation or power supply through the USB port for unit configuration. During battery-supplied operation, only the low-power microcontroller is awake. The microcontroller activates the modem during data transfer, as well as other subsystems for sampling and logging.

Data Acquisition

The sampling period and data send rate are user definable. Ultra-low power standby mode followed by frequent data recording and transmission can be selected to fit the application needs while maximizing the battery life.

SDI-12 Serial Bus

SDI-12 is an asynchronous, ASCII, serial communications protocol that was developed for intelligent sensor instruments that typically monitor environmental, structural engineering, and precision agriculture data. Communication is achieved by digital communications. The addressing system allows the data recorder to communicate with several microprocessor-based sensors over a single line. ADS-300 is compliant with the SDI-12 Standard Version 1.2 and supports extended commands for sensor configuration, in terminal mode. ADS-300 can collect data from several SDI-12 sensors for a total amount of 8 measurement channels.

RS-485, MODBUS

ADS-300 supports acquisition from sensors with RS-485 interface, using the popular MODBUS protocol (RTU & ASCII).

Transducer excitation

The unit provides multiple excitation options for measuring transducers. A user-adjustable 5V/12VDC excitation output is available for powering low-power external sensors.

Tilt Sensing

The unit has an optional accelerometer which is used for measuring angle declination.

Coulomb Meter

A user-enabled Coulomb Meter allows for the monitoring of the battery’s consumption.

Setup and Programming

The unit can be programmed locally through the serial by using simple ASCII configuration commands. The command set features commands for configuring scaling and timing parameters.

The RTR-500BM can be combined with any of the RTR-500/RTR500B series data loggers and up to 20 loggers can be registered for simultaneous use. PC software “RTR500BM for Windows” or the mobile app “T&D 500B Utility” can be used to set up mobile communication settings. Because the data collector uses mobile networking to transfer data, all you need to do is secure a power source and be in mobile range to send data to TandD’s cloud-based WebStorage Service, which makes it easy to check data, display graphs, and check warnings from your PC, smartphone or tablet anytime, anywhere.

The RTR-500BM has a warning monitoring function that sends a warning e-mail via the T&D WebStorage Service and/or SMS when a set limit is exceeded. Also, by connecting a buzzer or lamp to the contact output, you can set up an on-site alarm.

*To use an RTR-500BM, a SIM card from a carrier or mobile network service must be purchased.

The RTR-500BM replaces the RTR-500MBS-A model.
